Our Funders
The Foundation for Child
Development, established in 1899 in New York, is a national,
private philanthropy. It is dedicated to promoting a new beginning for
public education from pre-kindergarten through third grade. The
foundation promotes the well-being of children and believes that families,
schools, nonprofit organizations, businesses and government at all levels
share complementary responsibilities in the critical task of raising new
generations.
FCD provided the lead grant establishing the Journalism Fellowships in
Child and Family Policy program in 2000.
